From Disgust to Determination
Our story didn’t start on a farm—it started with a shared dream and a deep desire to control the quality of the food we fed our family. But when we opened a package of store-bought ground beef that smelled horrendous, that dream became urgent. We’d always wanted to raise our own meat, but that moment made it clear how important it was to provide trustworthy food for others, too.
From City Life to Rural Dreams
Before we got married and started farming, we weren’t living this agricultural life. Like so many others, we worked jobs that kept us tethered to more conventional lifestyles. But we always knew deep down that we wanted something different. We longed for the freedom and fulfillment that comes from working the land, and we wanted our children to grow up with the values that farming instills—responsibility, resilience, and a connection to nature.
The Big Leap: 1,000 Miles for Freedom
So, after almost three years of farming in Colorado, we realized we needed more space to grow. We took a leap of faith, packed up our family of eight, and moved 1,000 miles to Missouri. Leaving behind all that was familiar wasn’t easy, but we knew we had to make this move to raise our animals the way nature intended. We wanted to share our passion for nutrient-dense, grass-finished meats with others who care about quality, transparency, and sustainability.
Rooted in Regeneration: 1984 Farms Grows
In Missouri, we found the freedom to expand our farm and deepen our commitment to regenerative agriculture. We started raising grass-finished beef, lamb, and pastured pork and poultry, all while restoring the land with sustainable practices. As first-generation farmers, we are proud to build this from the ground up. Our journey wasn’t just about farming—it was about living with purpose, raising our children with strong values, and creating food that truly nourishes.
From Our Farm to Your Family’s Table
We didn’t start 1984 Farms just for ourselves. Every decision we make is rooted in our belief that families deserve better food—food they can trust. That’s why we’re committed to raising animals with care, using ethical practices that respect both the land and the people who enjoy the fruits of our labor. From our farm to your family’s table, we’re proud to offer you meat that nourishes your body, your values, and the environment.
